Early Life
Miriam Farbstein was born in Tel Aviv, Mandatory Palestine (present-day Israel), on October 10, 1945. Her parents fled Poland before the Holocaust. She attended Hebrew Reali School for 12 years and served in the Israeli army as a medical officer. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Genetics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a medical degree from Tel Aviv University's Sackler Faculty of Medicine. She specialized in internal and emergency medicine.
Rise to Success
Miriam Adelson met Sheldon Adelson on a blind date in 1989 and they married in 1991. Together, they founded substance abuse clinics in Israel and Las Vegas. After her husband's death in 2021, Miriam inherited a significant portion of his wealth and became the majority owner of Las Vegas Sands, a leading global casino and resort operator. She is also the publisher of Israel Hayom, a prominent Israeli newspaper.
