Bulent Eczacıbaşı was born in Istanbul in 1949. He is the son of Nejat Eczacıbaşı, the founder of the Eczacıbaşı Group of Companies. He attended the Deutsche Schule Istanbul and later pursued higher education at Imperial College London and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

After graduating with a master's degree in chemical engineering, Bulent Eczacıbaşı began his career at Eczacıbaşı Holding in 1974. He held various managerial positions within the Holding's subsidiaries. His dedication and expertise led him to become the Chairman of Eczacıbaşı Holding in 1995.
