Bijan Tehrani was born in the United States to Iranian parents. He later moved to Australia, where he resides in Melbourne. In 2016, he founded Easygo, a company that developed games for online casinos.
Rise to Success
Tehrani's career took a significant turn in 2017 when he co-founded Stake.com with Ed Craven. Stake.com quickly became a prominent crypto-based online casino, utilizing cryptocurrency for its operations. Despite facing restrictions in several regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and parts of Europe, Stake.com generated $4.7 billion in revenue in 2024.
Key Business Strategies
Tehrani and Craven focused on aggressive marketing to boost Stake's brand, putting the company's name on Formula 1 cars, English Premier League jerseys, and UFC octagons. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Stake partnered with content creators on Twitch to livestream gambling activities, which helped the company grow from $100 million to $2 billion in revenue in two years. When Twitch banned Stake from advertising, they launched Kick, a competing livestream service. In May 2024, Tehrani and Craven acquired a more than 5% stake in the ASX-listed online bookmaker PointsBet.
