Barry Zekelman was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, in 1967. His father, Harry Zekelman, founded Atlas Tube in 1984, a structural tubing company. Barry's education at York University was interrupted in 1986 when his father unexpectedly passed away. At the young age of 19, Barry, along with his brothers Clayton and Alan, took over the family business.
