Alexander Knauf was born on May 30, 1974. He is the son of Baldwin Knauf, and grandson of Karl Knauf, one of the founders of the Knauf Group. His upbringing in a family deeply involved in the building materials industry provided him with early exposure to the business world. He pursued a strong educational foundation, with studies at the University of Passau and the London School of Economics.
Rise to Success
Alexander Knauf's career began with an apprenticeship at Deutsche Bank. He then transitioned to consulting at Roland Berger GmbH. He also gained experience at the United States Gypsum Corporation in Chicago. In 2004, he joined the family business, taking over group management for the Northern Europe region within the Knauf Group. He was appointed to the position of General Partner of the Knauf Group in January 2013 and has served as Speaker of the General Partners since January 2022. This leadership role has been instrumental in the company's continued expansion and success.
