Early Life
William Fung Kwok Lun was born on February 21, 1949, in Hong Kong. He is the grandson of Fung Pak-liu, who co-founded Li & Fung, and the son of Fung Hon-chu. He graduated from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1972.
Rise to Success
Fung joined the family business, Li & Fung, and played a significant role in its expansion, transforming the company into a global trading powerhouse. He served as the Group Chairman of Li & Fung Limited until October 2020, when the company was privatized. In 2022, the logistics business LF Logistics, was acquired by A.P. Moller-Maersk for $3.4 billion.
