Early Life
Theodore Permadi Rachmat, also known as Teddy Rachmat, was born on December 5, 1943, in Majalengka, Indonesia. He is of Chinese Indonesian descent. He graduated from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) with a degree in mechanical engineering.
Rise to Success
Rachmat began his career in 1968 at Astra International, rising through the ranks to become CEO. In 1998, he founded the Triputra Group, which now encompasses various businesses, including agriculture, manufacturing, and mining. He also holds a minority stake in the coal company Alamtri Resources Indonesia, formerly Adaro Energy. Rachmat's strategic business decisions and leadership have been instrumental in his success.
