Ron Sim Chye Hock was born in Singapore in 1958. His early life was marked by modest beginnings; he came from a low-income family and, as a child, earned money by selling noodles. This experience instilled in him a strong work ethic and a drive to succeed.
Rise to Success
Sim's entrepreneurial journey began in 1979 when he established R Sim Trading, a retail business selling household goods. Recognizing a need for health and wellness products, he shifted his focus, leading to the creation of OSIM International in 1980. Under Sim's leadership, OSIM evolved into a global brand known for its massage chairs and other health and wellness products, expanding to over 30 countries. Sim took OSIM International private in 2016.
