He then pursued a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Sydenham College of Commerce & Economics, Mumbai. Furthering his education, he obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard Business School in Boston, USA.

Niraj Bajaj's career spans over 35 years. He is a Promoter-Director of the Bajaj Group, one of India's largest business houses. He currently serves as the Chairman of Bajaj Auto since May 1, 2021. Bajaj is also the Chairman and Managing Director of Mukand Limited, and the Vice Chairman of Bajaj Holdings & Investment Limited (BHIL). His leadership extends to the boards of Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Co. Ltd. and Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Co. Ltd.
