Mohed Altrad is a French-Syrian billionaire businessman, rugby chairman, and author, ranked #1108 on Forbes' 2025 Billionaires list. Born circa March 1948 in Raqqa, Syria, Altrad overcame a difficult childhood marked by adversity. He is the founder of the Altrad Group, a global leader in industrial services and construction equipment, with a revenue of $5.8 billion. Altrad's wealth stems from his ownership and leadership of the Altrad Group, specializing in scaffolding and cement mixers. His career includes acquiring a scaffolding company in France in 1985, which he developed into a multinational enterprise, and authoring several novels and management books. Altrad was named Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur of the Year in 2015.
