Ma Jianrong was born in 1965 in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, China. He began his career in the textile industry at age 13 as an apprentice, a foundational step in his future success.

Rise to Success

Ma's career progressed through Shaoxing Cotton Mill and Hangzhou Linping Knitting and Garment Plant. He joined Shenzhou International Group in 1989 as a manager in the knitting and weaving department. Through his leadership, he became the chairman of Shenzhou International, one of China's largest garment exporters. This company supplies major brands like Nike, Adidas, and Uniqlo. His rise to chairman occurred around 2005.
