Lia Maria Aguiar is a Brazilian billionaire businesswoman and philanthropist. Born in 1938, she inherited her wealth from her adoptive father, Amador Aguiar, the founder of Banco Bradesco, one of Brazil's largest banks. Her primary source of wealth stems from her ownership of approximately 1.8% of Banco Bradesco shares, as well as holdings in Bradespar, Bradesco's investment arm. Aguiar is renowned for her commitment to philanthropy and has established the Fundação Lia Maria Aguiar (FLMA) which supports education, culture, and social inclusion in Campos do Jordão, Brazil. Aguiar has publicly stated her intent to donate her entire fortune to her foundation.
