Early Life

Lia Maria Aguiar was born on June 2, 1938, alongside her twin sister Lina. The sisters were abandoned as infants outside a Banco Bradesco branch in São Paulo. They were later adopted by Amador Aguiar, the founder of the bank, who subsequently adopted a third daughter, Maria Angela.

Rise to Success

Following Amador Aguiar's death in 1991, Lia Maria Aguiar and her twin sister Lina inherited significant stakes in Banco Bradesco. Her wealth primarily derives from her ownership of approximately 1.8% of Banco Bradesco shares, as well as holdings in Bradespar, the bank's non-financial investment arm. The sisters were involved in legal disputes over their father's estate.
