Early Life
Kurt Krieger was born in Berlin-Schöneberg on April 2, 1948. After graduating from the Ranke-Gymnasium in Berlin-Wedding in 1967, he began his career with a bank internship and then entered the furniture retail sector.
Rise to Success
Krieger's career took off in 1967 when he acquired the rights to the name Höffner for 25,000 Marks and re-established the furniture store on Pankstraße. During this time, he also pursued a degree in business administration from the Technical University of Berlin, which he completed in 1975. After the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, he expanded his business into Eastern Germany, acquiring significant properties and establishing shopping centers. In 2002, he became the majority shareholder of Möbel Walther and, in 2004, took over Möbel Kraft, which was facing insolvency. In 2018, he acquired the Finke-Gruppe.
