Early Life
James P. "Jim" Kavanaugh was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1963. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Saint Louis University in 1986. During his time at university, he excelled in soccer and represented the United States in the 1984 Summer Olympics.
Rise to Success
After his athletic career, Kavanaugh transitioned into the business world. In 1990, he co-founded World Wide Technology (WWT) with David Steward. Starting as a technology reseller, WWT, under Kavanaugh's leadership, grew into a global IT solutions provider with approximately 12,000 employees. WWT has become a key business enabler for many Fortune 100 companies.
