Early Life
Guo Guangchang was born in Dongyang, Zhejiang, China, in February 1967, during the Cultural Revolution. He grew up in a humble environment, fostering a strong work ethic. He earned a BA in Philosophy and an MBA from Fudan University in 1989.
Rise to Success
In 1992, Guo founded Guangxin Technology Development Company Ltd with friends, pioneering the use of scientific methods for market research in mainland China. In 1994, he became the chairman of Fosun Group, transforming it into one of China's largest private enterprises with diversified investments in insurance, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, property, steel, and more. Fosun International was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2007.

Guo's strategy includes an "insurance + investment" approach, using insurance premiums for strategic acquisitions. Fosun has aggressively expanded globally, investing in companies like Club Med, Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club, and others. He focuses on long-term value over short-term market fluctuations.
