Early Life
Gao Dekang was born in 1952. He learned sewing from his father.
Rise to Success
Gao founded his apparel business in 1976, traveling to Shanghai to find clients. In 1984, he began producing down coats, which proved highly popular, leading to market leadership. He officially registered the brand and named it 'Bosideng.' Under Gao's leadership, Bosideng expanded its reach and currently operates over 3,000 stores across China and sells its products in dozens of countries. Bosideng's down apparel business maintained a significant lead in the industry for 30 consecutive years (1995 - 2024) in terms of sales volume in the PRC. Gao was also the CEO of Bosideng International until 2014.
Key Business Strategies
Bosideng has adopted a 'non-seasonal product' development strategy to optimize its product mix and enhance profitability. The company has been expanding beyond down clothing, offering a diverse range of products including menswear and kid's wear. The group also actively explores opportunities to merge and acquire non-down clothing brands.
