Early Life and Education
Fernando Chico Pardo was born in Mexico City in 1952. From a modest upbringing, he developed a strong belief in the value of education, which guided him throughout his life. He graduated from Universidad Iberoamericana with a degree in Business Administration and later earned an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
Rise to Success
Chico Pardo began his career on Wall Street and founded Acciones y Asesoría Bursátil, a brokerage firm, in 1982. The firm later merged with Grupo Financiero Inbursa, a financial group controlled by Carlos Slim. In 2003, he became a shareholder in Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (ASUR), which operates airports in Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Colombia. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of ASUR since 2005. In 2025, he acquired a 25% stake in Banamex.
