Alejandro Baillères Gual was born in Mexico City in May 1960. He is the son of Alberto Baillères, a renowned Mexican businessman who built a substantial fortune in mining and other sectors. Alejandro attended Culver Military Academy and holds a degree from Stanford University.

After his father's passing in February 2022, Alejandro assumed the leadership of Grupo BAL. Under his guidance, the group continues to operate with the same strategic vision that has characterized the Baillères family for generations. Alejandro's responsibilities include the presidency of Grupo BAL, and directorships in Industrias Peñoles, and Fresnillo plc. He also serves as the CEO of Grupo Nacional Provincial.
