Early Life

Faruk Eczacibasi was born in Istanbul, Turkey, in 1954. He comes from a prominent business family, with his father, Nejat Eczacıbaşı, being a renowned industrialist and philanthropist. Faruk received his education from the Deutsche Schule Istanbul and later earned his Bachelor's and MBA degrees from Technische Universität Berlin's School of Management.

Rise to Success

Faruk Eczacibasi's career began in 1980 when he joined the Eczacıbaşı Group's planning department. He played an instrumental role in the Group's computerization and e-transformation processes, heading Eczacıbaşı Information and Communication Technologies. He became the Vice Chairman of the Eczacıbaşı Group in 1996.

A key aspect of Faruk Eczacibasi's career has been his focus on digital transformation. He spearheaded the e-transformation initiatives within the Eczacıbaşı Group, recognizing the importance of technology in modern business. He is also the President of the Turkish Informatics Foundation (TBV), which he co-founded in 1995, contributing to the development of Turkey's information-based society.
