Faruk Eczacibasi was born in Istanbul in 1954 into a prominent business family. His father, Dr. Nejat F. Eczacibasi, was a well-known industrialist and philanthropist. Faruk attended the German High School of Istanbul and later studied at Berlin Technical University, earning both a Bachelor's and an MBA degree.
Rise to Success
Eczacibasi began his professional career in 1980 in the planning department of the Eczacıbaşı Group. He played a crucial role in the computerization and e-transformation processes within the Group, leading its information and communication technologies division. He was appointed Vice Chairman of the Eczacıbaşı Group in 1996 and has held the position since then.

He has also been the President of the Eczacıbaşı Sports Club since 1999, leading the Women's Volleyball Team to numerous national and international championships. The Eczacıbaşı Group supports the Istanbul International Festivals.
