Early Life and Education
Andrei N. Rappoport was born in Nova Kakhovka, Ukraine, in 1963. He graduated from Donetsk State University with a degree in economics in 1989. During his studies, he participated in a student exchange program at Santa Clara University in the USA. He later earned a Ph.D. in Sociology in 1997, showing his dedication to education.
Rise to Success
Rappoport began his career in management consulting in Ukraine in 1989. In 1991, he co-founded Alfa-Bank, later becoming its CEO, a position he held until 1996. He then served as First Vice President for Economics and Finance of Yukos-Rosprom from 1997 to 1998. From 1998 to 2004, Rappoport held the post of Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of OAO RAO UES. He also founded and headed the Board of Directors of Inter RAO UES JSC from 1999 to 2009, specializing in international energy trading. From 2013, he has been supervising his own management company and investment fund.
