Vadim Moshkovich was born in Moscow, Russia, on April 6, 1967. He attended mathematical school No. 57 in Moscow and graduated from the Moscow State Institute of Radio Engineering, Electronics, and Automation in 1992.
Rise to Success
Moshkovich entered the agricultural business in 1995, starting with sugar imports. He acquired sugar processing plants from 1997 to 2003 and established Rusagro Group in 2004. Rusagro grew into one of the largest vertically integrated agricultural holdings in Russia, operating in sugar, oilseeds, meat, and grain sectors. In 2011, Rosagro Plc., the main holding company of Rusagro Group, conducted an IPO on the London Stock Exchange, raising approximately $300 million.
Key Business Strategies
Moshkovich's key business strategy involved the vertical integration of agricultural operations, encompassing various stages from production to processing. He also invested in real estate development through his company, Masshtab, which focused on New Moscow. Rusagro expanded its operations, including acquiring sugar factories and oil and fat factories.
Philanthropy
Moshkovich is known for his philanthropic activities, particularly in education. He funded a project to establish a school for gifted children in Kommunarka (New Moscow), with the goal of placing graduates at top global universities. He also supports the Higher School of Economics and Belgorod State Research University, as well as the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center in Moscow.
