Early Life and Education
Naresh Trehan was born on August 12, 1945, in Batala, Punjab, British India. He showed early signs of academic brilliance and attended King George's Medical College in Lucknow, where he received his MBBS degree in 1968. He furthered his education by pursuing a diploma in cardiothoracic surgery from the American Board of Surgery in the USA.
Rise to Success
Dr. Trehan's career began at New York University Medical Center, where he performed over 3,000 coronary artery surgeries. He returned to India in 1988 and established the Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre in New Delhi. He served as the Chief Cardiovascular Surgeon at Escorts for over two decades. In 2009, he founded Medanta - The Medicity in Gurugram, a multi-specialty hospital.
