Andrei Bokarev was born on October 23, 1966, in Moscow, Russia. He graduated from the Moscow Institute of Finance in 1990.
Rise to Success
Bokarev's career took off in 1998 when he was offered to head Krutredag, which managed the export operations of the Kuzbassrazrezugol coal company. Bokarev subsequently became a member of the Board of Directors of Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (UMMC) in 1999. From 2000 to 2005, he was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kuzbassrazrezugol Management Company. In 2008, he was appointed President of Transmashholding, one of Russia's leading industrial companies. Bokarev also played a role in the construction of infrastructure for the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games through Transmashholding.

Bokarev's business strategy has involved strategic partnerships and investments in key sectors. He has been a partner in numerous projects with Iskander Makhmudov. He co-owned Transmashholding (TMH) which manufactures rolling stock for railways and subway systems. Bokarev also had stakes in companies like Kuzbassrazrezugol, Russia's second-largest coal company.
