Anand Ashok Chand Burman was born in Kolkata, India, in 1952, into a Punjabi Khatri business family. His father, Ashok Chand Burman, was the Chairman Emeritus of Dabur India Ltd. Anand received his initial schooling at St. Paul's School in Darjeeling, India. He pursued higher education in the United States, earning a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin. He continued his studies at the University of Kansas, where he received a Master of Science in Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry in 1980.
Rise to Success
Anand Burman began his career with Dabur in 1980 as the manager of the research and development department. He was appointed to the company's board in 1986, playing a role in strategic decision-making. In 2007, he became the Chairman of Dabur. Under his leadership, Dabur expanded internationally and diversified its product portfolio.
