Alexander Otto was born on July 7, 1967, in Hamburg, Germany. He is the son of Werner Otto, the founder of the Otto Group, a major mail-order and retail company, and Maren Otto. Alexander grew up in a family deeply involved in business, which instilled in him an early understanding of business principles and a strong work ethic. He pursued his education in the United States, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard College and later an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Rise to Success
After completing his studies, Alexander Otto joined the family business, Otto Group, in 1994. His primary focus, however, was in commercial real estate, particularly through ECE Projektmanagement, founded by his father in 1965. He quickly made his mark within ECE and became CEO in 2000. Under his leadership, ECE transformed into one of Europe's leading real estate companies, expanding its operations to numerous countries. He is currently the majority owner and CEO of ECE Group.
