Ahmet Çalık was born on March 1, 1958, in Malatya, Turkey. He comes from a family involved in the textile business since the 1930s. He began his business ventures in 1981.

Rise to Success

Çalık's career started in the textile industry with Ortadogu Tekstil in 1981 and Çalık Denim in 1987. He expanded into construction and energy. In 1997, he brought these companies together under Çalık Holding. He united the group companies operating in energy, construction, mining, textile, and finance under the Çalık Holding umbrella in 1997.

Çalık Holding has diversified its investments across the energy, construction, mining, textile, and finance sectors. The company has a partnership with Mitsubishi Corporation. In 2015, Mitsubishi acquired 4.5% of Çalık Energy. Çalık's strategies include establishing a global presence, as the Çalık Group operates in over 34 countries across four continents.
