Zhao Lixin

Early Life

Zhao Lixin was born in Zhengzhou, Henan, China, in 1966. His father was a soldier who later worked at the Xinhua Bookstore. Zhao studied engineering science at Tsinghua University. In his late teens, he left his family to study in Beijing.

Rise to Success

In 2003, Zhao founded GalaxyCore, a company specializing in the design of integrated circuits for CMOS image sensors and display driver ICs. The company's success grew when it began selling products during market shortages. GalaxyCore's success helped secure investments from Walden International and Sequoia Capital. Zhao's company designs, develops, and sells high-performance CMOS image sensors. Zhao planned the development of his company by first creating a process, then technology, and finally manufacturing the product.

Key Business Strategies

GalaxyCore's customers include Oppo, Xiaomi, Samsung, and Lenovo. In 2021, GalaxyCore was successfully listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. Zhao holds a 41% stake in the company.

Today, Zhao Lixin, who is still the head of his company with a 42% stake, lives in Shanghai with his wife.
