Early Life
Teo Swee Ann was born in Singapore and developed an early interest in engineering, influenced by his fascination with computers. In 2008, Teo founded Espressif Systems in Shanghai. The company gained recognition for its innovative ESP32 chips, which are used in a wide array of applications, including speakers, wearable devices, and home appliances. In 2019, Espressif sold 25% of its shares in an IPO, valuing the company at $716 million. The company's market cap was around $2 billion as of May 2023.
