Stephen Ketchum's career in finance began after earning a B.A. from New England College, magna cum laude, followed by an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. This strong educational foundation provided him with the analytical skills necessary to excel in the competitive world of finance.

Ketchum's professional journey includes significant roles at top financial institutions. Before founding Sound Point Capital Management, he was the Global Head of Media & Telecom Investment and Corporate Banking for Banc of America Securities. He also held a position as a Managing Director at UBS in the TMT Investment Banking Group. From 1990 to 2000, he was employed in the Investment Banking Department of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, most recently as a Managing Director. These experiences gave him a comprehensive understanding of investment strategies and credit markets.

In 2008, Ketchum founded Sound Point Capital Management, LP. Under his leadership, the firm has become a leading credit asset manager, specializing in CLOs and structured credit investments.
