Salil Singhal was born in Allahabad, India, in 1946. He graduated from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, with a degree in political science. After completing his education, he joined his father, P.P. Singhal, in the family business in 1965.
Rise to Success
Singhal took over the leadership of PI Industries in 1979 following his father's demise. Under his guidance, PI Industries, which initially focused on pesticides, expanded its operations to include a range of agrochemicals, fine chemicals, and custom synthesis. His vision transformed the company into a leading agricultural input and custom synthesis and manufacturing company in India. He was instrumental in building a strong distribution network across India and expanding the company's global presence. He has been recognized as one of the most sought-after leaders in the agrochemical business.
