Robin Khuda

Early Life

Robin Khuda was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and moved to Australia at the age of 18. He pursued accounting studies at the University of Technology Sydney.

Rise to Success

Khuda's career began with roles in the telecommunications and cloud computing sectors, working for companies like Singtel and Fujitsu. He later served as the CFO of PIPE Networks, a company involved in constructing a submarine fiber-optic cable between Australia and Guam. His breakthrough came in 2015 when he founded AirTrunk, a data center company. AirTrunk quickly expanded, establishing data centers across Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore.

Key Business Strategies

Khuda's vision for AirTrunk was to build hyperscale data centers specifically designed for major cloud customers. This strategic focus, combined with building faster and cheaper, led to significant growth and success. The 2024 acquisition of AirTrunk by a consortium led by Blackstone and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board for $16 billion validated his strategic approach.

Philanthropy

Khuda established the Khuda Family Foundation in 2020. In 2025, he made a record donation of $100 million (AUD) to the University of Sydney to create a 20-year STEM program for women from Western Sydney, aiming to increase opportunities in the tech sector.
