P.V. Krishna Reddy was born on June 29, 1969, and raised in Dokiparru Village, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh, India. His father was a farmer, and his childhood involved assisting with family's crops and livestock. He earned a degree in commerce after high school, and later joined his uncle in the business, which was initially focused on building small pipes.
Rise to Success
In 1989, P.P. Reddy, Krishna Reddy's uncle, founded Megha Engineering Enterprises. Krishna Reddy joined the company in 1991 after graduating. Under his leadership, the company expanded rapidly, undertaking major irrigation projects, tunneling works, power plants, highways, and natural gas distribution projects. MEIL became one of India's leading engineering and construction firms.
Key Business Strategies
Reddy is known for his strategic foresight and ability to capitalize on emerging opportunities. His approach includes adopting new technologies and diversifying into various sectors, including solar power and electric vehicles. MEIL expanded its operations to include a global presence in countries like Zambia, Tanzania, Bangladesh, and Kuwait. In 2006, the company's name was changed to Megha Engineering and Infrastructure.
