Peter Leibinger

Early Life and Education

Peter Leibinger was born on April 23, 1967, in Stuttgart, Germany. He is one of three children of Berthold Leibinger and Doris Leibinger. He studied mechanical engineering at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule (RWTH) in Aachen, Germany, and graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering.

Rise to Success

Leibinger's career has been primarily with TRUMPF, a high-tech company specializing in machine tools and laser technology. He became a partner in Trumpf SE + Co KG in 1994. He initially worked as a development engineer in the USA before holding various management positions within the Trumpf Group since 1999. He served as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the TRUMPF Group. He also served as the Vice Chairman of the Group Management Board. In July 2023, Leibinger became Chairman of the Supervisory Board of TRUMPF.

Leibinger has played a crucial role in expanding TRUMPF's product lines through acquisitions, and internal development, especially in laser technology. As CTO, he was responsible for research and development, sales, and service, as well as the expansion of new business areas. He is now focused on the company’s strategic planning in his role as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
