Early Life
Michael N. Andlauer was born in Toulouse, France in 1966. His family moved to Montreal, Quebec, Canada, when he was young, where he was raised by his single mother, Monique Van de Velde, in the Notre-Dame-de-Grace neighborhood. He attended York University in Toronto but dropped out to take a job at McCain Foods.
Rise to Success
Andlauer's career began in the transportation industry. In 1991, he founded Andlauer Transportation Services (ATS), which later became ATS Healthcare. The company specialized in delivering pharmaceutical products, growing to be one of the largest health transportation companies in Canada. In 1994, he founded Accuristix, a healthcare logistics firm. Andlauer also founded Andlauer Management Group (AMG) and Bulldog Capital Partners, a private equity firm, further expanding his business interests. In 2019, he consolidated several healthcare supply-chain businesses into Andlauer Healthcare Group, which went public on the Toronto Stock Exchange the same year.
Key Business Strategies
Andlauer's success in the transportation sector can be traced to his strategic focus on healthcare logistics, particularly temperature-controlled transport. He expanded his portfolio through strategic acquisitions and consolidations, as seen with the formation of Andlauer Healthcare Group. His investment in the Montreal Canadiens in 2009 demonstrated his commitment to the sports industry.
Philanthropy
Andlauer, through the Ottawa Senators Foundation, is committed to supporting the community through various initiatives. In March 2024, Andlauer pledged $1 million each to Roger Neilson House and the start-up of Maison Papillon, a pediatric palliative care facility.
