Martin Ebner

Early Life

Martin Ebner was born on August 12, 1945, in Hurden, Switzerland. He grew up near Pfäffikon SZ. He studied law at the University of Zurich, graduating magna cum laude, and later earned a PhD in business administration from the University of Florida.

Rise to Success

Ebner's career began at Credit Suisse and Bank Vontobel. In 1985, he founded BZ Bank, followed by BZ Group in 1988. Through his investment vehicle Patinex, he acquired significant stakes in various public and private companies, including Alusuisse, Lonza Group, Asea Brown Boveri, Credit Suisse Group, Roche Holding, Union Bank of Switzerland, Winterthur Group, and Intershop Holding.
