Early Life
Maritsa Lazari was born in October 1943, in Cyprus. At the age of 16, she moved to London with her family. It was here she met her future husband, Chris Lazari. The couple married in 1965.
Rise to Success
Together with her husband Chris, Maritsa co-founded the fashion line Drendie Girl. They used the profits from this successful venture to invest in commercial property. In 1976, they established Lazari Investments, a family business that has become a major player in London's property market. Maritsa is a director of Lazari Investments, which owns a substantial portfolio of commercial real estate in London.
Key Business Strategies
The Lazari family's strategy has been focused on acquiring prime commercial properties in central London. They expanded their portfolio to over 3.25 million square feet of commercial space, including office space, and 850 residential units across eight London estates. Their holdings include notable properties like the Brunswick Centre.
Philanthropy
In 2017, Maritsa and her children established the Christo Lazari Foundation in memory of her late husband. The foundation supports Cypriot, Greek Orthodox, and medical causes. The foundation donated £3.25 million of investment property to the children's charity Radiomarathon.
