Marianna Latsis was born in Athens, Greece, in the 1950s as the daughter of John S. Latsis, a prominent Greek shipping tycoon, and Erietta Tsoukala. After her father's death in 2003, Marianna Latsis inherited a substantial portion of the family assets.
