Li Shui-po was born in Taiwan in 1956. Little is publicly known about his early life, but he demonstrated an early interest in mechanical engineering. He later pursued a degree in the field, graduating from National Taipei University of Technology.
Rise to Success
Li's career began at a steel mill in Dajia District, Taichung, where he worked his way up to the position of factory director. In 1991, he and his wife co-founded Kinglai Hygienic Materials. The company produced stainless steel products. His wife's background in international trade enabled them to secure their first major client. At the suggestion of his father-in-law, Li moved the company's headquarters to Kunshan, Jiangsu, China, in 2000. This proved to be a pivotal decision. Kinglai went public on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2011.
