Lam Kong's journey began with a foundation in clinical medicine, earning a bachelor's degree from Zhanjiang Medical College in 1986, now known as Guangdong Medical University. This educational background provided him with a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, which would later prove invaluable.
Rise to Success
Lam's career started with a small business in pharmaceutical product trading. Over ten years, he successfully grew this venture into a multi-billion dollar enterprise. In 1995, he founded China Medical System (CMS), serving as its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Under his leadership, CMS has become a major distributor of both imported and locally produced pharmaceuticals and has been listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Lam's experience includes over 16 years in the marketing, promotion, and sales of pharmaceutical products.
Key Business Strategies
Lam is responsible for the creation, implementation, and management of CMS's development and growth strategies. His efforts have significantly contributed to the company's success in the distribution of drugs, including anti-depressants and liver ailment medications, to numerous hospitals in China. CMS also engages in the manufacturing and import of prescription drugs. The company's focus is on producing excellent products for physicians, patients, and pharmaceutical manufacturers through professional promotion services.
Achievements and Awards
Lam Kong is also a co-inventor of a drug called CMS024, used for the treatment of primary liver carcinoma. Under his leadership, China Medical Systems has garnered numerous awards and honors. The company was included in the list of “Asia's Best Enterprise under a billion” in 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014. Lam was also included in the 2014 Shenzhen Major Project Plan.
