Kim Beom-su, also known as Brian Kim, is a South Korean billionaire businessman and the founder and chairman of Kakao, South Korea's leading internet company. His source of wealth comes from online services, and he is a key player in the technology industry. Born in Damyang County, South Korea, in 1966, Kim grew up in Seoul and attended Seoul National University, where he earned bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering. His career began with a developer position at Samsung's IT services unit, before starting Hangame, South Korea's first online gaming portal, in 1998.
