Early Life and Education
K.C. Liu was born in Taiwan in 1954. He graduated from National Chiao Tung University with a degree in Telecommunications Engineering. Before founding Advantech, Liu worked as an R&D engineer and sales engineer for HP Taiwan in the Instrument Department. This experience provided him with the foundational knowledge and practical experience that would prove invaluable in his later ventures.
Rise to Success
In 1983, at the age of 29, K.C. Liu co-founded Advantech with two colleagues from HP Taiwan. His vision was to create a world-class company, a goal that has propelled Advantech to become a global leader in the industrial computing arena. Advantech quickly gained international recognition, becoming the world's largest industrial PC maker. Liu's leadership has been instrumental in Advantech's expansion, establishing subsidiaries in 21 countries and employing nearly 9,000 people worldwide. He introduced the "Good-to-Great Three Circles" concept, emphasizing altruism, ethical business practices, and excellence, which has been a key factor in Advantech's success.
