Early Life
Janice Suber McNair was born on September 30, 1936, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She attended Columbia College, a private women's liberal arts college, where she met her future husband, Robert McNair.
Rise to Success
Janice and Robert McNair moved to Houston in 1960 and raised four children together. Robert McNair founded Cogen Technologies, which was later sold to Enron in 1999 for $1.5 billion. Janice co-founded the Houston Texans with her husband in 1999. After her husband's death in 2018, Janice became the principal owner and Senior Chair of the Houston Texans. In 2024, she transferred principal ownership to her son, Cal McNair.
