Huang Yimeng's entrepreneurial journey began in 2003 when he co-founded VeryCD, a free film and television resource download station, with his classmate Dai Yunjie. The platform, which once ranked among the top 100 websites globally, eventually faced closure due to piracy and management issues. Huang was expelled from the university for refusing to delete a video that violated the school's terms of service. This experience provided him with invaluable lessons in navigating the complexities of the internet landscape.

Rise to Success

In 2010, Huang and his team from VeryCD established Xinxin Network, venturing into web games. This initiative proved highly profitable, establishing Huang as one of China's most successful game manufacturers at the time. Recognizing the shift in internet usage from desktops to mobile devices, Huang identified a gap in the market for a mobile gaming community akin to Steam. This insight led to the creation of TapTap in 2016, an ad-supported platform that gained immediate popularity, offering games free of charge to both players and publishers.
