Hasmukh Chudgar was born in India in 1935. He grew up in a modest household and developed a strong work ethic and commitment to education, which significantly influenced his later business ventures. He earned a degree in chemistry from Gujarat University, which formed the foundation for his career in pharmaceuticals.

Rise to Success

In 1976, Hasmukh Chudgar founded Intas Pharmaceuticals in Ahmedabad, India. Starting as a small generic drug manufacturing company, Intas focused on producing high-quality, cost-effective medications. His aim was to make essential drugs accessible to more people, both in India and worldwide.

Key Business Strategies

Chudgar's vision and focus on affordable medications drove Intas's growth, expanding its product range across various therapeutic areas. In 2019, Intas launched Eleftha, an affordable drug for breast cancer treatment.

Family Involvement

Hasmukh Chudgar handed over the company's operations to his sons, Nimish and Binish, who continue to lead Intas. His third son, Urmish, heads the company's biopharma business.
