Early Life
George Leon Argyros was born on February 4, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan, to Greek immigrant parents. The family later moved to Pasadena, California, where Argyros was raised. From a young age, he demonstrated an entrepreneurial spirit, working various jobs to support his family and fund his education. He graduated from Chapman University in 1959 with a degree in Business and Economics.
Rise to Success
Argyros embarked on his real estate career in 1962, purchasing and selling properties. In 1968, he founded Arnel & Affiliates, which has grown to become a major real estate company in Southern California, specializing in development and management of both residential and commercial properties. He also served as the owner of the Seattle Mariners from 1981 to 1989.
