Eduardo Eurnekian was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on December 4, 1932, to Armenian immigrant parents. His family established a textile business, which provided a foundation for his future career. The family's textile business thrived, becoming a key supplier to Puma.
Rise to Success
Eurnekian began his career in the textile industry before moving into the cable TV business in the 1980s. In 1988, he acquired Cablevisión S.A., a local cable TV station, and built it up. He sold his stake in Cablevision for $750 million in the 1990s. Following the economic crisis in Argentina in 2001, Eurnekian purchased assets through Corporación América. In the 1990s, he secured a 30-year concession for building and operating airports in Argentina.
