Early Life
Benjamin Otto was born on June 9, 1975, in Hamburg, Germany. He grew up in Hamburg as one of two children of Michael Otto, who led the Otto Group for many years. After completing his Abitur, he trained as a banker at Berenberg Bank. This was followed by studies in International Business at the European Business School in London.
Rise to Success
After initial international assignments, Benjamin Otto founded Intelligent House Solutions in the fall of 2003, a company offering solutions in the smart home sector. This later evolved into evoreal Holding, a medium-sized group of companies for project development, where Benjamin Otto was a partner until the end of 2018. In 2013, he co-founded the e-commerce start-up Collins with Tarek Müller, Sebastian Betz, and Hannes Wiese, which led to the creation of About You and Edited. On June 1, 2015, he took on the role of 'shaping partner' in the Otto Group to focus on the strategic direction of the company.
