Early Life
Andrey Vagnerovich Ogadzhanyants, later known as Andrey Andreev, was born in Moscow, Russia, on February 3, 1974. He showed an early interest in technology, building his own radio as a preteen. In 1992, he left the University of Moscow after less than a year of studying and moved to Valencia, Spain.
Rise to Success
Andreev's career in the tech industry began with early entrepreneurial ventures. He founded Virus, an online store selling computers, and SpyLog, a web-tracking software. In 2002, he established Begun, a digital advertising firm. His significant impact came with the founding of Badoo in 2006, which became a leading social networking and dating app. Badoo grew to have over 425 million registered users globally. In 2014, Andreev partnered with Whitney Wolfe Herd to launch Bumble, a women-focused dating app, where women make the first move in conversations. Andreev sold his stake in MagicLab (which included Badoo and Bumble) to Blackstone in 2019 for $3 billion.

Andreev's business strategy has focused on innovation in the dating and social networking space. Key strategies include pioneering features such as the "swipe" functionality and using GPS technology for connecting users. Andreev contributed to the restoration of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris by committing 100% of Badoo's revenue to the cause.
