Timm Oberwelland

Early Life and Education

Timm Oberwelland was born in Bielefeld, Germany, on November 4, 1969. He completed his Abitur, the German university entrance qualification, in 1990. After graduating, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. Oberwelland also studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena, California.

Rise to Success

In 1994, Oberwelland founded Zeal Pictures in Los Angeles, where he produced several American films and television series. Over approximately the next ten years, the company produced several American films and television series. Oberwelland shifted his focus to the German and international film industry in the 2010s, contributing to projects such as "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World" (2018), "A Whole Life" (2023), and "Catweazle" (2021). He is also part of the Oberwelland family, whose great-grandfather founded the Storck confectionery business in 1903.

Key Business Strategies

Since July 2015, he has been the managing partner of Tobis GmbH, Berlin. In addition to acquisitions, he is also responsible for the production and development of cinema and TV productions. Oberwelland serves as Managing Director of Tobis Film GmbH, a role he has held since July 2015, overseeing acquisitions, production, and project development for film and television.

Philanthropy

Klaus Oberwelland, Timm's father, established the Stork Foundation in 1992 to preserve endangered stork populations.
