Dr. Yu Kai received his B.Sc and M.Sc degrees in E&E from Nanjing University, China, and a doctorate degree in Computer Science from University of Munich, Germany.
Career
Prior to founding Horizon Robotics, Dr. Yu Kai held significant positions at Baidu, including executive head of Baidu's Institute of Deep Learning (IDL) and executive president of Baidu Research. He also launched the Baidu autonomous driving project. From 2006 to 2012, he served as director of the media laboratory at NEC Labs America. He also was invited as an Adjunct Faculty to teach a graduate-level class in the Computer Science Department of Stanford University.
Rise to Success
In 2015, Yu Kai co-founded Horizon Robotics. Horizon Robotics develops AI chips used in self-driving cars and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The company's solutions combine algorithms, software, and processing hardware, providing core technologies for assisted driving.
